Statement of Actor Christian Bables on ABS-CBN Network Shutdown
CHRISTIAN BABLES – The actor broke his silence on the shutting down of the ABS-CBN network.
The ABS-CBN Network has been on air for decades already. Undeniably, many people did not expect the Kapamilya network will be shutdown after airing for so many years.
The franchise of the network reached its expiry. The network was not allowed to renew it due to the issues surrounding them. More than two months ago, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) released a Cease and Desist Order against the network.
Immediately, ABS-CBN’s broadcasting operation went off air. The network bid for a new franchise and 13 hearings were held to tackle the issues against them.
Last July 10, the House Franchise Committee denied ABS-CBN of a fresh 25-year franchise. The verdict came after 70 lawmakers voted for the denial and only 11 voted in favor of the network.
