Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Gives Update On Quest For Naya Rivera

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department gave an update on their quest for Naya Rivera.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department gave an update on their ongoing quest for former Glee actress Naya Rivera who went missing last Wednesday.

This, as the Sheriff’s Department stated in a press conference that they were still in the process of looking for Naya’s remains together with dive teams who used specialized equipment in order to scan man-made reservoir.

The Sheriff’s Department also said that they started using sonar in order to search the bottom of Lake Piru on Thursday evening as the visibility under the water was limited to more or less one to two feet, adding that they would resume to use it. In addition, cadaver dogs were also being taken out onto the water in order to help the dive team with their quest.

As of Friday (US time), Naya Rivera’s family didn’t give a statement regarding her disappearance, yet Captain Eric Buschow said that they remained in contact with Naya’s loved ones. According to him, Naya’s family was going through their “extremely difficult time”.

Meanwhile, Sgt. Kevin Donoghue said in a separate interview with People that they believed Naya’s disappearance was “purely accidental” at the current stage in their investigation.

According to Sgt. Donoghue, they interviewed Naya’s son and there’s nothing that they learned from her son, adding that everything that they had learned may lead to “water recreational accident”.

Moreover, he said that they can’t say about what actually happened during the incident, describing it as “a mystery”. He also said that they’re still investigating, searching, and trying to uncover clues.
