Twitter reminded its iPhone and iPad users to update their device’s operating system because of this.
Twitter recently reminded its iPhone and iPad users to update their device’s operating system to iOS 12 or higher (for iPhones) or iPadOS 12 or higher (for iPads).
This, as Twitter officially announced that the company won’t support devices with older versions of Apple’s operating system in its official mobile app.
According to Twitter, they should update their devices’ operating systems in order to continue to benefit from the mobile app’s regular feature updates as well as performance improvements and bug fixes.
The company’s decision had already been confirmed with the latest version of its mobile app for iOS, which was already available on Apple’s App Store.

It was quite common for app developers to drop the app’s support for older versions of iOS and iPadOS as the mobile operating system of Apple had a very fast adoption rate in terms of its latest available updates.
As reported on 9to5Mac, it was uncertain for how long Twitter’s mobile app would keep working on Apple devices running iOS 11 (for iPhones) and iPadOS 11 (for iPads), as such, the only thing that iPhone and iPad users could do was to keep their devices up-to-date in order to prevent the mobile app’s compatibility issues with third-party apps.
