Sam Milby Breaks Silence on Denial of ABS-CBN Franchise Bid

SAM MILBY – The Kapamilya actor revealed his side on how the ABS-CBN bosses handled the issues regarding its franchise.

Many were left heartbroken by the decision of the House of Representatives Committee on Legislative Franchises. With a 70-11 voting result, the franchise bid of ABS-CBN network was denied.

The network’s franchise came to expiry and was not renewed due to several issues. It included the taxes paid by the company to the government and the nationality of its chairman emeritus, Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III.

At least twelve (12) hearings were held before the Committee voted whether to approve or deny ABS-CBN of a new 25-year franchise. The result broke the heart of the Kapamilya employees.
