Maja Salvador Recalls Statement in Wildflower Over the Franchise Issue of ABS-CBN
MAJA SALVADOR – The Kapamilya actress cited her famous statement in “Wildflower” over the ABS-CBN issue.
One of the biggest happenings that recently took social media by storm was the denial of the franchise bid of the ABS-CBN network. Undeniably, many were surprised that a network that operated for decades will not be granted a new franchise following the issues.
At least twelve (12) hearings were held prior to the voting of the members of the House Franchise Committee. In the said hearings, the issues including the taxes paid by the Kapamilya network and the citizenship of its chairman emeritus, Gabby Lopez III, were tackled.
Last July 10, the House Franchise Committee decided on the ABS-CBN franchise bid. With a 70-11 voting result, the Kapamilya network was not granted a fresh 25-year franchise.

The broadcast operation of the ABS-CBN network is on off-air for more than two (2) months now. It was two (2) months ago when the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) released a Cease and Desist Order against the network.
Several celebrities have spoken their sides following the decision. Undeniably, the reaction of the public is divided – some are disappointed as many people may lose their jobs amid the COVID-19 pandemic while others support the denial of the franchise bid of the Kapamilya network.
One of the stars who spoke is Kapamilya actress Maja Salvador. In her social media post, the actress cited her line in Wildflower where she played as Lily Cruz.
According to Maja Salvador, the ABS-CBN can never be silenced and will keep on fighting. She stressed that the Kapamilya, “just like gold”, is “indestructible”. Here’s her Tweet:
