Open Letter of Star Magic Head Johnny Manahan to Congress Over ABS-CBN Issue
JOHNNY MANAHAN – The Star Magic Head penned an open letter to the Congress on the ABS-CBN issue.
Currently, the ABS-CBN network has yet to return to its full and normal operation like how it was prior to the shutting down of its broadcasting category. It was due to the order of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
The NTC order is because of the expired franchise of the network. A renewal did not take place as many issues are surrounding the network.
Recently, some of the Kapamilya programs were back to airing through Sky Cable and Kapamilya TV Plus but it had to stop following a new NTC order. The programs’ episodes are aired on Facebook.

A lot of people have spoken on the ABS-CBN issue. Recently, Star Magic head Johnny Manahan has broken his silence through an open letter to the Congress.
In his open letter, Mr. Johnny Manahan or more commonly called as Mr. M shared how he became a Kapamilya. It was in the 1960s when he started his career as designer, crane operator, gofer and several other jobs before he became a director in 1970.
During the 1986 EDSA Revolution, Mr. Freddie M. Garcia asked him to transfer two (2) of his shows to channel 13. It started his journey with the ABS-CBN Corporation.
According to Mr. Johnny Manahan, none compares to the Lopez family when it comes to “progressive, meritorious, compassionate and decent organization”.
Mr. Johnny Manahan admitted that ABS-CBN is not perfect but he stressed that the network is “willing to correct mistakes”. He also stated that a lot of people are depending to the network.
Mr. M ended his open letter by stating that the Marcoses stole the ABS-CBN network in 1973. He pleads not to steal it again. Here’s the Instagram post:
