Instagram removed Madonna’s post due to this
Instagram recently removed Madonna’s post due to spreading false claims about a supposed “cure” for coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
This, after Madonna shared clips from a certain video that were also re-tweeted by United States President Donald Trump.
Madonna claimed in her post that a “proven vaccine” had been available for months, however, she added that it was being “kept secret” in order to let the “rich get richer” and the “poor and sick get sicker”.
In addition, Madonna posted a video of United States physician Stella Immanuel who praised an antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine as a “miracle coronavirus cure”. In a report on AFP News, various video clips of Stella’s speech went viral on the internet and on social media.
However, hydroxychloroquine – an antimalarial drug – hadn’t been proved “effective” against coronavirus disease.

Meanwhile, a company spokesperson for Facebook – which owned Instagram – on Wednesday told AFP News that they had removed Madonna’s video for “making false claims” about prevention methods and cures for coronavirus disease.
Moreover, she said that those who had commented on, reacted to, or shared the said video would see messages directing them to “authoritative information” about the coronavirus disease.
