The upcoming collab of Anne-Marie and marshmello was currently in the works.
Anne-Marie was about to release her second album and she wanted to collab with marshmello. Was this an indication that they’re working on a follow-up to “Friends”?
In a tweet, Anne-Marie posted on her Twitter account telling marshmello to check his messages. To his response, marshmello only tweeted emojis as a sign of approval.

Anne-Marie previously released her debut album “Speak Your Mind” last 2018 wherein her song “Friends” — a song that was a product of collaboration between her and marshmello — was included in the album.
In a report on YourEDM, marshmello was “on the cusp of another two 1 billion play songs on Spotify” with his tracks “Friends” (with Anne-Marie) and “Silence” (with Khalid).
Meanwhile, Anne-Marie said in a MYXclusive interview that she was excited about her second one and confessed that she felt like she had been singing her songs from her first album for so long.
As reported on MYX, “Her” and “Birthday” would be added in the said album. Moreover, her latest track “To Be Young” with Doja Cat — which was set to release on July 17 — was also included in her album.
