DOH reported new coronavirus cases for today, July 3, 2020
The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported new coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of today, July 3, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health reported 1,531 new coronavirus cases wherein 688 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 843 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 40,336 as of 4:00 p.m. of July 3, 2020.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 400 additional recoveries and six new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 11,073 and total fatalities to 1,280.
For “fresh” cases, 255 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 138 were from Central Visayas, 24 repatriates, and the remaining 271 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 158 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 163 were from Central Visayas, eight repatriates, and the remaining 514 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Friday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.
