The Department of Health (DOH) reported new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines as of today, July 24, 2020.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #132 dated July 24, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,103 new COVID-19 cases wherein 1,029 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 1,074 were identified as “late” cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 76,444.
According to the Department of Health, the newly-confirmed cases on Friday were reported based on the total tests done by 78 out of 90 current operational laboratories.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 144 new recoveries and 15 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 24,502 and total coronavirus deaths to 1,879.
Moreover, the Department of Health reported 50,063 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #132 dated July 24, 2020.
The Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of July 24 only: Metro Manila with 1,272 new cases, Cebu with 291 new cases, Laguna with 107 new cases, Rizal with 83 new cases, and Cavite with 53 new cases.
