The Surigao del Sur 2nd District Representative has been placed under isolation after his results during swab testing in Congress on Sunday turned out positive.

“Yes, my result was positive on my swab test done yesterday in Congress,” he said.

Prominent personalities and politicians who will be attending the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte at the Batasang Pambansa are required to undergo rt-PCR and rapid testing as part of the safety protocol.

Recently, House Secretary General Lawyer Jose Luis Montales confirmed that Sulu 1st District Rep. Samier Tan tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health announced via its latest bulletin that the Philippines has recorded 2,110 additional cases, 382 new recoveries, and 39 new deaths as of Sunday, July 26, 2020.

Based on the record of the country’s health department, the Philippines has now a total of 80,448 confirmed cases with 26,110 recoveries and 1,932 deaths.
