The lawyer of Angel’s Burger released a press statement regarding the cyber libel complaint against a Facebook user.

CYBER LIBEL COMPLAINT — The lawyer of Angel’s Burger on Thursday released a press statement regarding the case against a Facebook user.

This, as Angel’s Burger’s lawyer Gabriel Ablola said in a press statement that was released on Thursday that his client decided to file a case against the netizen in order to protect the interest of more than a thousand Angel’s Burger stands defamed by the fake photo.

In a statement, Ablola stated that the said case was filed against a Facebook user in order to protect the interests of small business owners of more than 1,000 franchisees of Angel’s Burger kiosks within the Philippines, especially when entrepreneurs were suffering from the impact of the pandemic and community quarantines as well.

He added that the brand manager mentioned that the “libelous” article mentioned the company and included a product the netizen purported to be theirs, which staged to look like there’s a coin inside the burger patty.

The lawyer’s press statement came after the company filed a case against a Facebook user who posted a “staged photo” of a coin inside the burger.

Attorney Gabriel Ablola was the lawyer of Angelica DL Mojica Corporation — which owned Angel’s Burger — through a fast-food chain’s brand manager Jose Alfredo Canlas de Leon.
