Former senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein he divulged his reaction about the statement of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III that the Philippines has successfully flattened the curve since April.
Earlier, Duque said during a Pre-SONA forum that the country has flattened the curve for COVID-19 amidst the steady rise of Coronavirus Disease 2019 cases.
“We have successfully flattened the curve since April. The metrics for arriving at that conclusion of flattening the curve is actually one, the case doubling time of the COVID-19 infection has actually become longer,” he said.

His statement caught the attention of many with some netizens blasting his claims.
Among who commented about the “flattened curve” statement of Duque for COVID-19 is no less than incumbent Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero.
“Dear Sec. Duque: The first step po in solving a problem is admitting that we have a problem. Addressing a pendemic is never a propaganda war. Please just do your job as best you can without fooling yourself or us and pray really hard that all our efforts will bear fruit,” he wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, as of July 14, the country has recorded 57,545 infections, 20,459 recoveries, and 1,603 deaths due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 or COVID-19.
