Pays Debt of Poor Jeepney Driver Receives Help From Anonymous Donor Experiencing Poverty
An anonymous donor gave P30,000 to pay the debt of a poor jeepney driver experiencing poverty and starvation amid the coronavirus pandemic.
A kind-hearted person who refused to reveal its identity helped the family of Marife Sicam who is in huge debt after her jeepney driver husband loss its livelihood due to the suspension of public jeepneys because of the health crisis.
Sicam and her family are suffering from extreme poverty after the Philippine government declared the enhanced community quarantine over the entire Luzon and other parts of the country last March 2020.
Marife and her husband are experiencing hardships to earn money because the government sets limited routes for jeepneys. Aside from hunger, the couple is also struggling with their spiking debt amounting to P18, 500.
Luckily, Sicam received P30,000 cash from an anonymous donor to pay the debt of the jeepney driver’s family. The woman also expressed her gratitude towards the donor saying “Salamat po kay Anonymous.”
The poor lady who is working as a dispatcher plans to start her own business if ever the government would not allow the traditional jeepney to travel again.
