Zubiri and Sotto mourned the death of former senator Ramon Revilla Sr.
Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and Senate President Vicente Sotto III extended their condolences to the family of former senator Ramon Revilla Sr.
This, as Ramon Revilla Sr., the father of Senator Bong Revilla, passed away on Friday at exactly 5:20 in the afternoon. He was 93 years old.
Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri stressed how Ramon Revilla Sr. did his best in public service as a senator and in the film industry as an actor.
According to Zubiri, Ramon’s real-life work easily overshadowed the heroics of his roles in various films and he was a “hero” both on-screen and off-screen which made the former senator “a truly remarkable” person. He also described the former senator as a “trailblazer” in the public works sector as he was the author of the Public Works Act which already signed into law in 1995.

Meanwhile, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said in a statement that the former senator had a kind and good heart as Ramon’s love for the masses, as well as his deep concern for the welfare of underprivileged citizens, was “an inspiring light” that laid down the parameters of “authentic” public service.
Sotto added that Ramon had taught him that public adulation was not and should never be used as a “benchmark” for those who and what a true public servant was.
Ramon Revilla Sr. was known for his action movies including Nardong Putik, Kapitan Pablo, Pepeng Kuryente, and Dugong Buhay. He also served two terms in the Senate from 1992 to 2004.
