The Land Transportation Office (LTO) officially opened its online portal in order to accommodate car registrations and license renewals.
This, as the Land Transportation Office opened its online portal in order to prevent COVID-19 infections and direct contact to persons with coronavirus disease.
The Land Transportation Office on Monday said that motorists can proceed to its portal in order to access their records without having to go to its branch, adding that going online could prevent its clients and staff from violating health measures such as physical distancing.
With its Land Transportation Management System, the processing of license procedures and car registrations would make it easier and faster. According to the Land Transportation Office, the online portal was accessible to the public 24/7 and covered NCR and areas of Dumaguete, Davao, Ormoc, Baguio, and General Santos.
In a statement, the Land Transportation Office said that as the LTO launched its new website, applying for driver’s license, paying fees, or registering cars made possible online, as such, the said portal can provide “fast and 24/7 access” to its services through computer, smartphones, or tablet. Moreover, the LTO added that its new system ” presents a significant benefit”.
As per the report, cashless payments for registrations, fines, and renewals were accepted, adding that the said portal would allow its clients to set an appointment at their nearest LTO branch if they need to.
The Land Transportation Management System has an Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) that scans faces and fingerprints of its clients in order to secure their identity.
