The OFWs who are based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia have been no-work-no-pay for four months already due to pandemic lockdown.

Ultimong pagkain namin hindi namin alam kung saan kukuhanin,” one of the OFWs said.

According to Reynan Bancoro, although they were able to receive food packs, it is barely enough to suffice their empty stomach.

Bancoro was among the 200 OFWs living in one villa in the capital city.

Some of them received financial assistance from their company while others were not able to receive any aid amidst the crisis.

Based on the report of GMA News, approximately 400 OFWs in Riyadh have resorted to digging through the trash for food.

Mag-survive na lang kami,” the OFW said when asked about the imminent danger upon consuming leftovers from the trash.

Meanwhile, Hans Leo Cacdac, the administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said that they will see to it that they will address the concerns of the OFWs.

He also noted that the OFWs were among those who will be included in the repatriation program of the government as COVID-19 continues to surge affecting OFWs across the globe.
