Netizens took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter to share their opinion on #IfIHadAFakeAccount, following reports of fake account emergence on the social networking site, Facebook.
On Sunday, an alarming number of fake Facebook accounts emerge on the social media platform.
This prodded Facebook to issue a statement over emerging fake accounts and encouraged “people to continue reporting” especially the fabricated accounts.
“We understand the concerns raised by our community in the Philippines. We’re investigating reports of suspicious activity on our platform and taking action on any accounts that we find to be in violation of our policies,” Facebook told GMA News.
Meanwhile, the #IfIHadAFakeAccount became a top-trending topic on Twitter on Monday following the surge in fake Facebook accounts.
