Lilia Dizon dies at 92 due to lung cancer
Veteran actress Lilia Dizon, the mother of actor Christopher de Leon, died at the age of 92 on Monday, June 15.
Lilia Dizon passed away in her home in Paranaque at exactly 8:20 a.m. over complications due to lung cancer, according to her daughter Toni Abad.
Lilia Dizon, the mother of Christopher de Leon rose to fame in 1950s when she starred in some of the remarkable movies under LVN Pictures such as “Bathaluman,” “Sanda Wong” and “Kandilerong Pilak” wherein she won Asia’s Best Actress in 1956.
Toni Abad told ABS-CBN News that her remains will be cremated today at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig.

Earlier, Abad took to the social networking site, Facebook to share the sad news about the death of her mother.
“The angels are rejoicing! Mom is now worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ not by faith, but by sight. She is now with our father God in heaven. No more pain, no more tears, no more suffering, She left us at exactly 8:20 this morning,” she wrote.
“I’m posting this with much sorrow because I will miss her. I love you Mom! Rest In Peace in the hands of our creator,” said Abad.
But before she died, some of her colleagues in the entertainment industry including several veteran stars gave their message of support to Lilia Dizon as she battles lung cancer.
Among who showed support towards her were Gloria Romero, Tirso Cruz III, Nova Villa, Pilita Corales, Dulce, Ricky Davao, Edgar Mortiz, Vilma Santos and to name a few.
