James Younghusband retires from football
Azkals star James Younghusband took to the image sharing site, Instagram to announce his retirement after 15 years of playing football.
The 33-year-old professional football player who plays as a right midfielder or striker went to Instagram to bid goodbye from football.
“Time to say goodbye. Thank you for the amazing memories. I have loved playing this game.
Thank you to my family, bosses, managers, coaches, team mates, opponents and all my supporters who have been part of my professional career,” he noted.
“I feel lucky to have experienced wonderful memories and thankful for every moment of my time with my clubs and country. 🇵🇭⚽❤️ Thank you @loyolameralcosparks @davaoaguilasfc @ceresnegrosfc @chelseafc @theazkalsph @phifootballfederation,” he added.
For the record, James Younghusband scored 54 goals after playing for various clubs such as AFC Wimbledon, Staines Town, Woking, Farnborough, San Beda FC, Meralco Manila, Davao Aguilas, Ceres-Negros and the Philippine National team, Azkals.
He also played in the historic 2010 Suzuki Cup that revived football mania in the Philippines.
He is the older brother of Phil Younghusband who also played before in Azkals but retired last year.
