The DTI has lifted the purchase limits on nearly all basic goods, according to DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Thursday has lifted the purchase limits on nearly all basic goods — except for face masks, sanitizer, disinfecting liquid, and alcohol.
This, as DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez said in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV that the policy on purchases in order to avoid panic buying amidst the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has been adjusted as the supply of nearly all basic goods — except for face masks, sanitizer, disinfecting liquid, and alcohol — has already improved.

Lopez said that the department has increased the purchase limits on face masks, sanitizer, disinfecting liquid, and alcohol. With this, consumers could buy up to one (1) box of facemasks with 50 pieces.
Also, consumers could pick up to five (5) bottles of 1-liter containers of sanitizer, disinfecting liquid, and alcohol, while up to three (3) bottles if it’s over a liter.
The lifting of purchase limits on nearly all basic goods came after the Department of Trade and Industry released Memorandum Circular No. 20-07 last March 2020 in order to avoid hoarding and panic-buying in light of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon and the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat as well.
