Young Male Doctor in PH Infected w/ COVID-19 Disease
YOUNG MALE DOCTOR – Dr. Neil Olivarez, a 28-year-old doctor, survived the battle against coronavirus or COVID-19.
Philippines is one of the countries with confirmed cases of the coronavirus or COVID-19. This global pandemic is putting a lot of lives at risk most especially the patients and the frontliners.
Among the frontliners in the fight against COVID-19 are the doctors and nurses. They are the ones who are usually exposed to suspected coronavirus patients and the confirmed ones.
Currently, according to the Department of Health (DOH), there is a total of 9,223 cases of the disease confirmed in the Philippines. Among the patients are medical frontliners who contracted the disease from their patients.
One of the medical frontliners who contracted COVID-19 is a young male doctor, Dr. Neil Olivarez. The 28-year-old doctor shared his experience battling against the disease.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Dr. Olivarez is working as a doctor in a private hospital in Davao City. The investigation showed that he got the disease from a patient who died and was not tested.
The young male doctor said he checked on the said patient. The said patient died on the day of transfer. He then experienced fever and body pain and suspected for COVID-19.
Based on the report, Dr. Olivarez expressed that he checked on his co-resident who also attended to the patient who died. His fellow doctor was also admitted.
The young doctor admitted that he felt scared upon knowing that he is positive for COVID-19. He also shared that his CT scan showed that the severity of his condition is from moderate to severe.
Under God’s grace, the young male doctor survived the COVID-19. It increased his respect for his fellow medical staff as he recognized that they never showed that they are scared everytime that they would attend to him.
Currently, Dr. Olivarez is back on his work. He tested negative twice on swab testing for coronavirus.

what I could not understand with our government and DOH, meron naman AVAILABLE DRUG OR MEDICATION NA GAMITIN AS PROPHYLAXIS FOR FRONTLINERS AND bakit ayaw pagamit ng DOH. Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin is available in this country. Kswawa naman yong mga namatay na hindi dapat mamatay. In fact Hydrocloroquine and Azithromycin are very good drugs for early stage of covid patients.
