Lockdown To Be Lifted ‘Gradually’, According To The British Government.

The lifting of COVID-19 lockdown measures in the United Kingdom was likely to be “gradual”, according to the British government.

This, as UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will reveal the British government’s plans following the announcement that the country had passed the peak of the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

According to Senior Minister Michael Gove, there would be having “some degree of constraint” once restrictions were eased until a vaccine against the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 was found.

‘Phased Approach’

Senior Minister Michael Gove said that a “phased approach” would allow the British government to evaluate the impact that those changes were “having on public health and, if necessary, in a specific and localized way”, as such, the government could “pause” or “reintroduce” restrictions which might be required in dealing with “localized outbreaks” of the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

Using Face Mask ‘Useful’

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson also said that using face masks can be “useful” as the United Kingdom will resume to its “new normal”.

COVID-19 Tally

As per the report, the United Kingdom reported 4,339 new cases of COVID-19, with 315 new coronavirus deaths. This brought the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 186,599, with 28,446 total fatalities reported.

Globally, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases already reached more than 3.5 million as of this writing, with 247,305 total coronavirus deaths and 1,148,830 total recoveries.
