COVID-19 Patient in Bacolod City Passed Away Due To Heart Attack

COVID-19 PATIENT IN BACOLOD CITY – A patient of coronavirus who has recovered from the disease died of heart attack in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

One of the cities in the Philippines with confirmed cases of coronavirus or COVID-19 is Bacolod City in Negros Occident. The city has recorded nine (9) cases of the disease.

Supposedly, the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Bacolod City has ended last April 30, 2020. However, new cases were recorded before the expiry of the ECQ which gave the authorities doubts on the safety of lifting it.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City appealed to the National Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19 to reconsider their recommendation to downgrade the ECQ in the city to General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the resolution filed by the SP in Bacolod City. The ECQ is extended until May 15 – the same date of expiry in other areas where the ECQ is extended as well.

Recently, an update about a COVID-19 patient in Bacolod City crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he has recovered from the disease but he died of heart attack.

The said patient is 40 years old and the son of a 62-year-old patient who also tested positive for the coronavirus. The parent of the man died of the disease.

According to the report, Bacolod City Health Officer Dr. Grace Tan expressed that the patient stayed for six (6) days in the hospital due to coronavirus. He already tested negative for the disease twice and was supposedly set to be discharged from the hospital.

Dr. Tan expressed that the patient stayed in the hospital as he has a history of stroke and hypertensive cardiovascular disease. He died of heart attack yesterday morning.
