Police Officer w/ Cop Backrider Sparks Outrage Online
The controversial photo of a police officer with a cop backrider goes viral and elicits comments from the social media users.
Over the past few months, the authorities are strictly implementing the community quarantine guidelines to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease. The quarantine protocols restrict the movement of the residents.
The quarantine law also includes the social distancing ruling to avoid the possible exposure to the coronavirus. The government also implements the bawal angkas law as a part of the precautionary measures.
A Facebook user named Ram Bonifacio has shared the photo of two police officers wearing a fatigue uniform and riding a motorcycle. The image garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the photo, it can be seen that a police officer has a cop backrider on his motorcycle amid the “no motorcycle back-riding” policy or popularly known as “Bawal Angkas”, which is a part of social distancing measure.
Some social media users lambasted the policemen for allegedly violating the policy while some netizens defended the two and explained that frontliners are exempted from the ‘bawal angkas’ law.
