Makati City Gov’t, GCash To Give Financial Aid To 500,000 Residents

Makati City government, in partnership with GCash, will give financial aid to 500,000 residents.

Makati City government, in partnership with GCash, will give financial assistance to 500,000 residents who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This, as the city government of Makati partnered with GCash for the distribution of the expanded Makatizen Economic Relief Program, which was renamed as the MAKA-tulong 5K for 500K+ Makatizens.

The city government’s PHP 2.7-billion worth of cash assistance will be distributed to 500,000 qualified beneficiaries through their respective GCash accounts.

In addition, the city government of Makati will assist those qualified beneficiaries who don’t have a GCash account to create one. This would maintain the physical distancing among people and this would reduce the health risk among senior citizens, pregnant women, children, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) as well.

How to qualify for MAKA-tulong 5K for 500K+ Makatizens?

In order for the residents in Makati City to qualify for the financial assistance program, they must be:

  • at least 18 years old
  • a resident of Makati City (or any of the relocation sites managed by the city government of Makati in San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan and Calauan in Laguna)
  • registered as a Makatizen cardholder, a yellow cardholder under the Makati Health Program, or a voter in Makati City

Also, previous beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP) were qualified for the said program.
