DSWD Gives Update on the Release of 2nd Tranche of Cash Aid

The second tranche of Cash Aid for Poor Families is set to be released by the end of May according to DSWD.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is citing to release the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) cash aid by the end of May.

DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao announced on Tuesday through a press statement that it is set to deliver the cash aid to poor Filipino families.

Meanwhile, according to a statement issued by Malacañang on Monday, May 25, 2020, the distribution of the subsidy is via an electronic system.

As of posting, the social welfare department is still doing a validation among the list of qualified beneficiaries at the same time, the department is waiting for the technical working group who will spearhead the distribution of SAP.

“Kinakailangan may judicious spending of our resources para may ma-cover tayong iba,” she said during a interview with ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo.

“Ang objective o goal ng DSWD, bago matapos ang buwan ng Mayo ay makapagpahatid na tayo,” she added.

Malacañang reiterated that in the second tranche of social amelioration program cash aid, 5 million poor family beneficiaries will be added from the previous list of 12 million beneficiaries – who benefited in the first wave of SAP distribution.

In the report published by abs-cbnnnews.com, qualified beneficiaries are set to receive cash subsidy from 5000 to 8000 pesos, as per the minimum wage of respective regions is concerned.

As the second tranch of SAP is about to be given, the national government is reminding the public especially the public officials to refrain from participating in illegal practices in relation to the distribution of the cash aid.
