Child in New York Who Suffers From Symptoms Similar to Kawasaki Disease’s Dies
CHILD IN NEW YORK – A five-year-old boy in New York died of symptoms that are similar to the signs of Kawasaki Disease and was linked to COVID-19.
Undeniably, every health symptom may be pointing to several health conditions. That is why doctors conduct several tests and laboratories to find out the health problem of the patient.
There are a lot of common symptoms. What somehow helps the doctor is that most diseases got a specific pack or list of health signs. Still, thorough testing must be done.
Recently, a child in New York died due to symptoms that are similar to Kawasaki Disease. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Governor Andrew Cuomo expressed that it is believed to have been caused by COVID-19.
COVID-19, a coronavirus that infected over 3.5 million people across the globe, is a pandemic now. More than 200 countries got confirmed cases of this disease which came with impacts that are far beyond what was expected of it.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the fight against coronavirus is going to be a long-term battle. Currently, United States is the country with the most cases of coronavirus after having recorded over one (1) million cases.
Based on the report, with regards to the child in New York who died of symptoms similar to Kawasaki Disease and whose case was linked to COVID-19, the boy is only one (1) of 73 cases of children showing the said health signs.
Kawasaki Disease is a health condition that affects kids up to the age of five (5) years old. It is characterized by inflammation on the walls of the arteries and may lead to skin peeling, fever, and joint pains.
Cuomo expressed that parents must seek medical advice immediately if their children are having fever that does not go away within five (5) days. Other signs include chest pain, breathing difficulties, and diarrhea.
