China ‘Not Interest’ On Google’s Contact Tracing Tech, Says Report

China “Not Interest” On Google’s COVID-19 Contact Tracing Technology, According To A Report

China was “not interested” on Google’s COVID-19 contact tracing technology because it has its own phone tracking system in the country, according to a report.

This, after Google, together with Apple, officially announced that these companies were about to launch their COVID-19 contact tracing technology in order to help health agencies and government contain the spread of COVID-19 or coronavirus disease.

In a report from Forbes, Google expected that around 80 percent of Android smartphones outside China would be able to use Google’s contact tracing technology.

Aside from this, Google will reportedly publish a “framework for unsupported Android smartphones” (which includes Huawei and other smartphones without Google services) through the open-source version in order to replicate the official COVID-19 contact tracing technology.

This, after the United States banned Huawei from using Google services, including Google Play Store.
