Twitter introduced Fleets to the public as its own Stories-like feature and already tested out exclusively in Brazil.
Twitter was testing its own Stories-like feature on its app, named Fleets, in Brazil. Same with Snapchat and Instagram, it also lasted for 24 hours.
With this feature, users can reply to a certain fleet, yet that message will serve as a DM (direct message), which was similar to Instagram and Snapchat.
Twitter group product manager Mo Aladham told The Verge that it was “for having conversations about what you care about,” yet some of the users told Twitter that they’re “uncomfortable to tweet because tweets are public, feel permanent, and have public counts”. Mo added that they wanted to make Fleets possible for users to have a conversation in new ways with “less pressure and more control”.
Meanwhile, Kayvon tweeted that they’re starting a test — both on Android and iOS — exclusively in Brazil.
We’ve been listening to this feedback and working to create new capabilities that address some of the anxieties that hold people back from talking on Twitter. Today, in Brazil only, we’re starting a test (on Android and iOS) for one of those new capabilities. It’s called Fleets. pic.twitter.com/6MLs8irb0c

Aside from Fleets, Twitter earlier announced that it would be bringing pinned lists to its Android and iOS apps.
On Android? Now you can pin Lists to swipe over to them from your Home tab too!
