Bacolod Issues Order Providing Additional Exemptions On Curfew Hours

Bacolod City issued an order providing for additional exemptions under the Executive Order No. 22 Series of 2020.

The city government of Bacolod issued an Executive Order No. 22-A Series of 2020, an order providing for additional exemptions under the Executive Order No. 22 Series of 2020.

The City Government of Bacolod on March 15 issued Executive Order No. 21 Series of 2020, placing the city under a state of General Community Quarantine, and on March 16 issued Executive Order No. 22 Series of 2020, providing for the implementing rules and regulations (IRR).

This, as COVID-19 threat continued to spread and with new valid reasons arising, thus, the city government will include establishments and persons as exemptions to the said restrictions as stated in Executive Order No. 22 Series of 2020.

Signed by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia on Thursday, March 19, the said order would take effect immediately.

Under Section 1 of the said order, the following persons were exempted from curfew hours, which was from 10:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. of the following day:

  • Government officials and employees, including barangay tanods and street cleaners
  • Health workers (both public and private)
  • IPM personnel and vehicles providing garbage collection services
  • Media reporters and practitioners
  • Management and employees of Bacolod City Slaughterhouse
  • Bank personnel, armored car drivers and guards
  • Hotel, inn, and pension house employees
  • Bakery employees
  • Delivery personnel of fast-food outlets
  • Suppliers and regular vendors at the Libertad, Burgos, and Central market
  • Gasoline station employees
  • Personnel and vehicles of funeral parlors

On the other hand, Section 2 of the said order enumerated the following businesses and offices that were allowed to operate beyond 8:00 p.m. and even during the curfew period.
