Schools Advise Students, Faculty To Self-Quarantine If From China Trip

Here are the schools that released their advisories to their respective school communities.

Several schools in Manila encouraged students and faculty to undergo a 14-day self-quarantine amid concerns over the fast-spreading 2019-nCoV.

This, after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the first case of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

Here are the universities that released their advisories to their respective school communities regarding the 2019 novel coronavirus:

ADAMSON UNIVERSITY

In a statement from Adamson University, the university called all Chinese students to “observe self-quarantine” from January 31 to February 14.

ATENEO DE MANILA UNIVERSITY

In a statement from Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), the university advised that students and faculty who had traveled to China or may have been exposed to countries with confirmed 2019-nCoV cases should undergo mandatory self-quarantine and notify the university’s health services of their condition.

FAR EASTERN UNIVERSITY

In a statement from Far Eastern University (FEU), the university said that students who had traveled to “high-risk” countries should do a 14-day self-quarantine.

POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES

In a statement from Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), the university said that all students and faculty members “who traveled abroad from Jan. 14, 2020 onwards are required to stay at home and undertake self-quarantine for 2 weeks or 14 days.” In addition, the university said that those who are experiencing fever “are highly recommended to take a leave from class or work until fully recovered.”
