Couples from PROCOR tied the knot on Friday at the St. Paul Church in Benguet.
Nine (9) couples from the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) tied the knot on Friday at the St. Paul Church in Benguet.
This, as the mass wedding ceremony was an annual activity of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) in order to legitimize the status of its policemen with their partners.
Maj. Carolina Lacuata, PROCOR information officer, said in an interview with the Philippine News Agency that the purpose of having a mass wedding was “to show police officers are not all work but are also looking at their spiritual and marriage dimension,” thus, the wedding ceremonies for policemen was a good practice of the Philippine National Police (PNP) organization in order to establish their healthy family life.
The mass wedding ceremony was officiated by the regional chaplain Rev. Fr. Joselito Borja.
Maj. Carolina Lacuata stated that PROCOR previously held its mass wedding for policemen in December last year, adding that the Police Community Relations (PCR) branch in Benguet took care of the processing of the documentary requirements of its couples prior to the ceremony.
Lacuata also said that the ceremony was held “as part of the internal cleansing effort of the organization, policemen cannot be infidel to their spouses,” thus, “they have to stick to their spouses and not be involved with any other.”
