In an interview with The Visayan Daily Star, Carl Malone Montecido, a resident of Bacolod City who was also known as “Blind Balladeer of Bacolod City”, admitted that he was happy that international singers noticed him and much happier that he was invited to an American TV show. He, however, said that the staff of The Ellen DeGeneres Show who spoke to him through a video call didn’t want to state further details of his guesting disclosed.

After joining Tawag ng Tanghalan and Pilipinas Got Talent, Carl Malone said that he was singing on a freelance basis in Bacolod and yet he was given an opportunity to perform in other countries as well. He added that he, as a visually-impaired singer, could reach that spot — to perform internationally.
