Amazon was the fourth company to back out of the annual Mobile World Congress, following LG Electronics, Ericsson, and Nvidia. In a statement, the GSMA telecoms industry association confirmed that the Mobile World Congress, which will be held on February 24-27, will proceed as planned.

GSMA added that no visitors from Hubei province in China will be allowed to attend this year’s Mobile World Congress.

Huawei and ZTE confirmed that they will attend this year’s MWC, ordering China-based staff to “self-isolate” ahead of the said event in order to ensure that they are free from the 2019 novel coronavirus, and drafting in European staff to cover for those stranded as well.
