This is the life of Ina Alegre from showbiz to politics

Former beauty queen and actress Ina Alegre is living this kind of life now as she ventured into politics.

Ina, born Jennifer Mindanao Cruz, represented the Philippines in the Mrs. Universe pageant back in 2015. She was active in doing acting projects 1990s up to 2000s. Ina appeared in several movies such as Suspek (1999), Mumbaki (1996) and Banal (2008).

She got married to Eastern Visayas Police Regional Office director Police Chief Supt. Gilbert Cruz and they now have four children, based on the article from robertrequintina.blogspot. Ina used to be a publisher of OffCam Magazine and host of ANC’s magazine show Thumbs Up.

She had her showbiz comeback last 2018 through the indie film Men In Uniform and played the role of Alfred Vargas’ wife, based on the article from balita.net. Ina said that that coming back to showbiz was not easy. Partly because she was already the Vice Mayor of Pola, Oriental Mindoro at that time.

Through the said film, she received other showbiz offers. However, she said, “pero hindi ko pa masasagot, kasi nga mahirap pagsabayin ang political at showbiz career, eh.”

Ina Alegre found her happiness in public service. “It comes to my heart and kahit anong gawin ko, kahit puwersahin ko ‘yung sarili ko na ayoko, pero nandoon, eh. ,Yung public service po talaga ang nasa puso ko, na makatulong talaga sa mga tao,” she said in an interview.

Some of her projects are livelihood and scholarships, and gift-giving for senior citizens. After serving as the Vice Mayor of Pola, the former actress/beauty queen continued to a higher position. She won the mayoralty race. She has been sharing her projects and public services on her official Facebook Page.
