DOH Confirms First Coronavirus Case in the Philippines
FIRST CORONAVIRUS CASE IN THE PHILIPPINES – The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the 1st case of the novel coronavirus in the Philippines.
The world is being shaken by the 2019 novel coronavirus that started in China. It was in Wuhan City when it was first recorded and the said city is now under a lock-down due to an outbreak of the disease.
The novel coronavirus is said to have the symptoms that are similar to flu. A patient may experience shortness of breath, cough, and fever. Allegedly, it could have been taken from bat soup that is served in a market in Wuhan.
More than seven (7) thousand people now are infected by the novel coronavirus. Sadly, at least 160 individuals lost their lives amid the outbreak of the disease. There are also several confirmed cases in other countries.
France, United States, and Japan have previously confirmed that they have patients with novel coronavirus. Hong Kong is also next to China with regards to the number of infected people.
Most of the patients in other countries visited China, specifically Wuhan, in December and in January. They are currently isolated to curb the spread of the disease.
Recently, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the first coronavirus case in the Philippines. Based on a post of ABS-CBN News, the patient is a 38-year-old woman from Wuhan, China.
The patient arrived in the Philippines in January 21. It was today when the results of her laboratory tests from Australia arrived in the country. The health department assured that all measures to curb the spread of the disease is being done.
