Geir Hakonsund, Ari Behn’s manager, announced in an email to AFP that he took his own life.

The Royal House of Norway said in a statement that Behn had been “an important part of our family for many years” and they will carry “warm and good memories” of Behn to them.

Ari Behn published a collection of short stories whose English translation was “Sad as Hell” way back 1999. Also, Behn, together with his former spouse Princess Martha Louise, wrote a book “From Heart To Heart”, a book that was all about their wedding in 2002.

Princess Martha Louise and Norwegian Author Ari Behn had three daughters — Maud, Leah, and Emma — yet they separated in 2016 and were officially divorced a year later. In a statement, Princess Martha Louise said that her family felt guilty because they’re “no longer able to create the safe harbor that our children deserve.”
