Remember the Arnold Clavio and Sarah Balabagan issue?
ARNOLD CLAVIO – Netizens recalled the past issue of the broadcaster with Sarah Balabagan amid his criticism on Maid in Malacañang.
The veteran broadcaster made a buzz on social media amid his criticism of the controversial movie, Maid in Malacañang, directed by Darryl Yap.
The movie is about the last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace.
In an Instagram post last July 11, Clavio questioned the movie if it is a step to change history about the Marcos family who was ousted during the EDSA Revolution.
His post earned mixed reactions from the netizens.
Amid his criticism of the movie, there were netizens who recalled his past issue with former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Sarah Balabagan.
Balabagan made headlines in 2020 after she revealed on a Facebook live that the news anchor is the father of her eldest child.
She was 17 at the time when she got pregnant with Clavio.
Their paths crossed when Arnold Clavio was covering the case of Sarah Balabagan who was imprisoned in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) over the murder of her employer.
She was acquitted and returned to the Philippines.
Lawyer Trixie Cruz Angeles who is now the press secretary once said that the anchorman may not be criminally liable if ever the former OFW files a child abuse case against him since it has been over 20 years since she was impregnated.
Darryl Yap has yet to issue any statement regarding the criticism of Arnold Clavio.
