Cesar Montano rallied behind Robin Padilla
Seasoned actor Cesar Montano defended his fellow celebrity Robin Padilla against people who are criticizing him for being number one in the 2022 elections senatorial race.
As of this writing, based on the partial and unofficial count of Comelec, Robin already has over 26 million votes. Two days after the election, the action star is still the leading senatorial candidate.
With this, many people aired their criticisms against Robin as they can’t believe that over 26 million Filipinos voted for an actor who has no political background prior to this year’s elections. However, people close to Robin and his supporters have been rallying behind him.
One of the celebrities who defended Robin Padilla is his friend Cesar Montano. In his Facebook post, Cesar stressed that everyone should respect the decision of the majority. He said that the people chose Robin and so this must be respected by those who did not vote for him.
The Muro Ami actor also said that he believes that Robin Padilla can do a lot in helping the Philippines because he saw how his fellow actor helped a lot of people who were in need and underprivileged. “I am a living witness. Hindi lang po nya ugali ang ipag-ingay sa media kapag tumutulong sya,” he said.
Cesar Montano added that his friend has been silent about his charitable endeavors and he is not someone who would boast about it. He also said that Robin knows the predicaments of ordinary citizens. The award-winning actor also said that educational background does not guarantee the effectiveness of a person to be a true public servant.
“Maliwanag po na hindi lamang katalinuhan o diploma ang hinahanap nating katangian para sa ating mga karapatdapat na senador sa ating bansa. Kundi may tunay at ginintuang puso para sa karapatan ng mga mamayang Pilipino,” Cesar said. He also encouraged the public not to quickly judge Robin because it would be unfair.
