Pres. Duterte Speaks on Capabilities of Mayor Inday Sara
DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte endorsed his daughter, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara, who is running for vice president in the May 2022 Elections.
In the upcoming 2022 Elections set on May 9, one of the candidates for the vice presidency is Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. She is running under Lakas-CMD national political party.
Initially, the presidential daughter filed for re-election as Davao City Mayor. According to her, she wants to finish three (3) terms as mayor in her hometown. However, a few days after the said filing of candidacy for re-election, she withdrew from the mayoralty race.
Mayor Inday Sara quit her political party, Hugpong ng Pagbabago, and joined Lakas-CMD. She substituted the vice-presidential bet of the national party.
Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is adopted as the vice-presidential bet of the PDP-Laban Cusi wing wherein her father, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, is a member. He also started campaigning for his daughter who is running for vice president in the upcoming poll.
Based on a report on Inquirer, speaking in a mix of English and Bisaya, Pres. Duterte stressed that it is his first time using his name being a father. He stressed that he and Mayor Inday Sara might have issues “but a child is a child”.
According to the 77-year-old President, Mayor Inday Sara is very good and very hard working but she is also very strict. Meanwhile, according to him, on the other side of her strictness is that she would really talk to the person. He stressed that “she can serve people in an orderly manner”.
Previously, Mayor Inday Sara stressed having no problem in case Pres. Duterte will join her campaign sorties. The Chief Executive has previously expressed his disappointment over his daughter running for vice president and not for the presidency citing her lead in surveys.
