OFWs in Different Countries to Campaign for Vice Pres. Leni Robredo, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan
OFWS – Many overseas Filipino workers from different countries gathered in a virtual event to express support for Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
The May 2022 Election is fast approaching and the candidates are doubling their efforts in reaching out to more people before the next poll. They are visiting different cities and provinces in the country to talk to the people, hear their sentiments, and lay down their plans and visions.
Vice Pres. Leni Robredo, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, and their senate slate held the proclamation rally in Naga, Camarines Sur. Following the kick-off of their campaigns, they started visiting cities and provinces across the nation. They are warmly welcomed by their supporters in every place they visit.
The Leni-Kiko supporters do not only consist Filipinos living in the country. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, there are also overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who support and want to campaign for Vice Pres. Leni Robredo and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.
According to the report, virtually, some OFWs from different countries met with Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. They launched the “Solid Leni-Kiko Global” which is a movement that aims to convince more OFWs to support the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Robredo and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan’s vice-presidential bid.
Milton Maristela, a registered nurse in California, United States, stressed that the Leni-Kiko team has become the source of their hope because there is a movement that guarantees healthcare for all, that fights human rights violators and perpetrators, and that defends the rights of the workers.
Vice Pres. Robredo previously expressed that she already has plans for the welfare and benefits of the OFWs. She wants to make sure that Filipinos working abroad have strong support systems through joining more bilateral labor agreements. She also wants to boost the access of the Filipinos working abroad to healthcare services.
“Kailangan mayroon nang health coverage sa ibang bansa para hindi niyo na kailangang magbayad,” she said.
