Lockdown Implemented in France Over Coronavirus

FRANCE – The authorities impose a lockdown in the country to prevent the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus.

The biggest global concern now is the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus or COVID-19. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the disease as pandemic – its extent went above the expectation.

Several countries now are fighting against the rapid spread of COVID-19. Among these countries are the United States, the Philippines, Iran, Italy, and South Korea.

The COVID-19 was first recorded in Wuhan City in the province of Hubei, China. More than 70,000 people were infected in China.

Aside from the aforementioned nations, France was also hit by the 2019 coronavirus. According to Worldometers, over 9,000 people were infected by the disease and the death toll has surpassed 200.

To contain the spread of COVID-19, France declared a lockdown. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, most people in the country are required to stay at home.

During the lockdown, only essential outings may be permitted. The country is now one with Italy, Ireland, and Denmark among other nations to declare a lockdown.
