Here’s the reaction of Korina Sanchez on Noli de Castro’s withdrawal from senatorial elections
KORINA SANCHEZ – The broadcast journalist was saddened by the withdrawal of Noli de Castro from the 2022 senate race.
On Tuesday, she went to the image-sharing platform, Instagram wherein she shared photos of her and Kabayan.
Her post was accompanied by the caption: “I feel sad my friend Kabayan Noli de Castro backed out of the Senate race.”
Noli withdrew his candidacy due to personal reasons.
Korina and Noli have been together on ABS-CBN for a long time.
Noli was one of the pioneer anchors of TV Patrol when it was launched by ABS-CBN in 1987. He was joined by Mel Tiangco and Robert Arevalo.
In 1995, Korina entered the news program. At the time, Mel left ABS-CBN to transfer to GMA-7.
On March 5, 2001, Korina became the main anchor of the show because De Castro ran for senator. She was joined by Henry Omaga-Diaz and Aljo Bendijo as co-anchors.
In 2004, the show was given a new face as TV Patrol World with Ted Failon, Karen Davila and Julius Babao as the main anchors.
With the relaunch of the program in 2010 as TV Patrol, the original anchors Noli, Korina, and Ted reunited.
In 2015, Korina left the news program and was replaced by Bernadette Sembrano. Noli and Ted still stayed there.
With the loss of the ABS-CBN franchise, Ted left the program in August 2020 to move to TV5.
Korina also left ABS-CBN to transfer to the Kapatid network.
Noli left the TV Patrol to run for senator under the Aksyon Demokratiko of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. Karen replaces him with Bernadette, and Henry.
