Father of Gladys Reyes dies
SONYER REYES – The father of award-winning actress Gladys Reyes, has passed away.
She shared the sad news via a post on the image-sharing platform, Instagram.
Her dad died due to multiple organ failures – heart, lungs, and kidney.
Earlier, she posted a photo of her hand while holding her dad’s hand.
It was in January this year when her father was hospitalized after suffering from a heart attack.
Fortunately, her dad was able to recover, as if nothing happened.
At the time her father was in a hospital, she and the rest of her family were not allowed to visit due to hospital rules amid the pandemic.
A couple of days later, her dad underwent an operation called Angioplasty. It is a procedure that restores blood flow through the artery.
The doctors told her about the risks of the procedure.
Meanwhile, celebrities extended their condolences to Gladys and her bereaved family.
Among those who expressed their sympathy were Coney Reyes, Angelika deal Cruz, Tina Paner, Camille Prats, Ara Mina, Sherilyn Tan, Lee O’Brian, Mikey Bustos, Rhea Santos, and Jennifer Sevilla.
Gladys Reyes is best known for her role as “Clara,” the lead villainess from the 90s ABS-CBN hit series Mara Clara.
In 2012, after years with her home network ABS-CBN, she transferred back to GMA Network.
Currently, she’s a member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
She last appeared on television via Kapuso network series, “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes.”
She is married to actor Christopher Roxas for 17 years already.
