In a statement, Eleazar underscored that the threat of coronavirus infection remains, which eventually may result in more coronavirus infections if the public ignored health safety guidelines.

With the commencement of the implementation of Alert Level 3 in the National Capital Region, the PNP chief ordered unit commanders in NCR to be alert and active in the implementation of minimum public health safety because the public may be complacent in following the protocols.

Eleazar also said more policemen will be deployed in public areas and establishments that were allowed to operate amid the easing of the alert level.

Meanwhile, Eleazar urged the public to remain cautious and to continue observing health protocols in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease.

Muli ay nakikiusap tayo sa ating mga kababayan na huwag kalimutang isaisip at isapuso ang pag-iingat dahil hindi pa tuluyang naalis ang banta ng COVID-19 sa ating bansa,” said the PNP chief.

Under Alert Level 3, some establishments will be allowed to operate at 30 percent indoor venue capacity only for fully vaccinated individuals and 50 percent outdoor venue capacity, provided that all employees were fully vaccinated.

On Friday, the Department of Health appealed to moviegoers in Metro Manila to wear face shields and face masks when going to cinemas.
