In an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel, Senator Pacquiao said that the Marcos family should return to the government whatever “ill-gotten wealth” they have because the public was clamoring for it.

Likewise, Senator Pacquiao said that he’s open to review the cases related to the Marcoses’ “ill-gotten wealth” should he be elected as president in the 2022 elections.

Senator Pacquiao also backed calls for former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to apologize over the supposed abuses during the regime of his late father, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos.

According to the senator, it’s not right for him to say that Bongbong didn’t know the events during the time of his father.

Senator Pacquiao credited the Marcos camp’s social media campaign for Bongbong Marcos’ popularity but noted that Filipino voters should be informed about the character of the candidates.

Pacquiao’s remark came as he faced Bongbong Marcos for the presidency in the 2022 elections.

Meanwhile, presidential aspirant Isko Moreno addressed concerns that he’s supposedly leaning towards the Marcoses.

Moreno said on Wednesday that it has been his style as Manila mayor to make amends with the previous administrations and form a more collective force in order to fix problems in his locale.

However, Moreno clarified that it didn’t mean past officials would be exonerated from the cases they’re facing.

Moreno also doubled down on his assertion, saying that paying too much attention to the political families’ squabble prevented the country from moving forward.
