Social media app LYKA recently released a statement as the company shared a message to all LYKA users in the Philippines.
In a statement, LYKA said that all additional requirements requested by the regulatory body have been submitted and they will “make an announcement once we receive the official statement”.
According to LYKA, the company looked forward to the issuance of the license so that their partner merchants can accept gift cards in electronic mode (GEMs) again.
“LYKA is here to stay and we will come out stronger than ever,” said LYKA in a statement.

In addition, the company said that LYKA Grocery, LYKA Games, LYKA Mall, LYKA Music, and other LYKA services will continue to improve and they can’t wait to launch new features that the company have in store for LYKA users.
According to LYKA, expansion in other South East Asian countries was “smooth sailing” and they’re doing their best so that LYKA users will soon be able to use their GEMs in their neighboring countries.
Moreover, LYKA said that they’resteadily fulfilling their vision of “becoming an app conglomerate and a disruptor of the traditional social media scene”.
“The wait is almost over. This is the best time to post, ACCUMULATE, and SAVE YOUR GEMs,” LYKA said in a statement.
LYKA’s statement came after the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas released a circular directing the operator in the Philippines to halt its operations as an Operator of Payment System (OPS) until the license has been issued.
According to BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas encouraged LYKA to get a payment operator license in order to “keep things in order”.
