Pilar Pilapil Now Back in GMA-7 Network After 13 Years
PILAR PILAPIL – The veteran actress who is now back as Kapuso after 13 years spoke about the people in GMA-7 Network.
In the Philippine showbiz industry, the two (2) biggest networks are ABS-CBN and GMA-7 – the Kapamilya and the Kapuso networks respectively. However, ABS-CBN currently has no license to operate on free TV following the expiry of its franchise.
In a showbiz career of an actor or actress, one thing that is not surprising is the switching of networks along the way. In fact, to some, it has happened several times already over various reasons like project offers and the pursuit to work with other celebrities.
One of the veteran stars who has been under the two (2) biggest home networks in the showbiz industry is Pilar Pilapil. The 70-year-old veteran actress has worked with a lot of stars already – and she is the dream of many young actors and actresses to work with.
Under the GMA-7 network, Pilar was part of the 1999 drama television series Di Ba’t Ikaw. She was also part of the Philippine adaptation of the Mexican television series MariMar in 2007. It aired until 2008.
Most of the projects did by the veteran actress was with ABS-CBN Network. Recently, after 13 years, she returned to GMA-7. She made a revelation about what she noticed.
Based on a report on Pep, Pilar Pilapil expressed that she always thinks that “people in GMA were quite professional” and she saw a lot of improvements in their professionalism and organization.
“Possibly also, because this is a completely different set-up, I noticed they are more organized,” the veteran actress said.
Based on the report, Pilar Pilapil has also not encountered any problem with the younger stars she’s working with as they are “very obedient”. She stressed that they really follow the rules set.
Pilar is one of the main casts of the GMA-7 television series First Yaya. She plays the character of the kontrabida mom of the president.
