DITO Telecommunity had recently unveiled its “online welcome offer package” on its ahead of its March 8 commercial launch.
PLDT Inc and Globe Telecom may be up for another price war once DITO officially rolled out its mobile services nationwide.
This, as DITO targeted to offer a competitive promo for its initial launch this March.
A document obtained by CNN Philippines showed DITO was set to offer unlimited data, texts, and calls for only PHP 199 for 30 days starting March 8 — its commercial launch.
The said promo covering SMS and calls would only be limited to DITO-to-DITO network. In addition, the “welcome offer” would run from Monday to end-March.

According to DITO, the said promo would be offered to Cebu City, Carcar, Danao, Consolacion, Mandaue, Liloan, Minglanilla, San Fernando, Naga, and Talisay in Cebu province and to Davao City, Tagum, Panabo, Carmen, and Digos in the Davao region.
Late in February, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) said that DITO passed its first technical performance audit.
DITO vowed to provide an average broadband speed of 27 Mbps, covering 37% of the Philippines’ population for its first year of operations.
Its reach would initially be limited to 15 areas in Mindanao and the Visayas. However, DITO chief administrative officer Adel Tamano earlier said that the group was eyeing to make the coverage “available throughout the country” by the middle of the year 2021.
